Each drawing in Karam Natour’s visual diary of the unconscious is composed according to a set of aesthetic constraints; Always digitally drawn, always on the same yellowed papyrus paper which he found on the internet, frequently naked. The drawings feature a character who resembles the artist acting out allegories, re-appropriating symbols, and wrestling with his identity in a public and brash manner. The edition seeks to dialogue with Karam’s practice, and objectively present the work while simultaneously opening it up for interpretation.
